This blog entry will be shorter than normal. Go to our SharingOurJourney Website to see more picts and listen to the separate daily summaries of our trip. ===================== Our hiking began with a quick flight from Baku, Azerbaijan to Kayakoy, Turkey. The Middle Earth Travel Company arranged for our 8 day journey to include all meals and luggage transportation between daily villages. We carried a day pack with a lunch that was provided by the pension in which we were staying. We took lots of pictures and met some interesting hikers along the journey. Since our hiking was taking place in late March, we were 'early' in the season so we did not see many travelers along our path. Lots of solitude and evidence of Spring emerging. A special thanks to Bekir Kirca of Flower Pension in Patara, Bayram Karadag of Montenegro Motel in Faralya, Muhtar'in Yeri of Guy, Brea and Fatma in Sidyma, and Phyllis of the Misafir Evi guest house in Kayakoy where gourmet meals are standard :) Fantastic trip with hundreds of great pictures and endless memories. Sincerely Virtual Saguaro On the Ovacik to Faralya segment of our hike…Click to View The following Map shows the entire Lycean Way from Fethiye to Antalya. We walked from Kayakoy (just South of Fethiye) to Patara (Near Kalkan) in 8 days, about 100 km. We had some very steep climbs and a couple flat walks. Our most arduous walk was on an abandoned mule trail from Feralya to Alinca. (not shown on map) We wondered, 'how can any mule walk this path?'
