Part of this journey was to catch up with my sisters who are now in the Southwest USA. The only drawback to this area is the heat: 105F while I was visiting. And this is not the hottest it gets! One sister was visiting from Austin, TX, another was just moving back from North Carolina to Phoenix, and the other sister lives in Scottsdale, an eastern suburb of the growing Phoenix, AZ. So finding all three in the same location was quite a blessing. Visiting, shopping, talking, driving around town and taking a journey out to Cave Creek area was enjoyable. Here's a pict of the three sisketeers. Cave Creek is north of Phoenix, set against the raw desert and mountains. Many preserves and state land keep this area from developers who value this property. On a journey to a favorite site we couldn't help admiring this unique ranchers gate. An old well has been given life by way of a solar cell and new pump. Of course some volunteers created the pond which now overflows with life, providing a much needed watering hole for the many desert creatures.
